Power Slot Concept

The Pursuit tc420 driver introduced the slot sole to the titanium driver market. The driving force behind the engineering was the idea that casting a deep groove into the sole would provide a mechanism that acts like a loaded hinge and propels the ball off the face at a greater velocity. At that time, several equipment manufacturers were adding a channel to the crown. Our experience told us that most golfers miss the sweet spot toward the sole of the club. Putting the slot on the sole is not only logical, it is just plain effective.

Slot Sole Fairway Woods

The exciting thing about the slot sole mechanism is that it does not require a huge force to activate. In other words, the player does not need to possess a 115 mph swing speed to benefit from the design. Golfers of all ability levels will gain yards with smoother easier swings.

Internal Weight Pad

Just behind the slot there is an internal weight that balances the head with a low center of gravity. Placing the discretionary weight behind the slot and close to the face is another feature that maximizes ball velocity. The added mass helps to compress the slot creating an explosive rebound that sends the ball farther with less effort than any fairway wood we have manufactured to date.

c455 Face

The c455 face materials is a high grade Carpenter steel product that is unerringly consistent from batch to batch. The Carpenter c455 steel is harder than any other steel used in stainless fairway/hybrid production today. Therefore, it can be forged very thin on the edge. This design characteristic gave us the ability to maximize ball speed off the face and generate more distance from the fairway or tee box. Carpenter 455 is a more expensive face material. But even with the best, most expensive face in the fairway/hybrid market the Pursuit is still much less expensive than nationally advertised, tour play endorsed brands. Pursuit is affordably marketed but built with uncompromising quality.

Good Looks

The Carpenter face is engraved with precise score lines. The triple coat black gloss finish will shine on the course, and red accented indentions make the Pursuit fairway and hybrids look high tech yet understated.

Shaft Options

The HDX 70 is a capable shaft for the Pursuit fairway wood. Manufactured by UST specifically for us, the HDX has a bend profile and playing characteristics that are similar to the stock shafts in drivers and fairway woods marketed by the larger club manufacturers. In fact, UST makes shafts for many of the industry’s most popular brands. The HDX fits the swings of a wide variety of golfers. It’s stiff tip offers control while the mid bend-point make it easy to generate the correct launch angle necessary to maximize distance and accuracy.

Or if you want to spend a few extra dollars consider upgrading to the Grafalloy Project X. The uncut shaft sells for over $60.

I love this club! I ordered the 3w to replace a old Callaway I'd been playing for years. I hit this thing long and straight. My favorite club in my bag. Please make an Iron Set to compliment these woods.

This is a solid fairway metal at a great value. I was hoping to get a fairway club with the length of a 3-metal and the loft of a 4-metal, but Gigagolf had no such blend. I also hit a straight ball and so I didn't need the 1-degree draw on this club. But on the course this club performs well. The stiff Pursuit M2T shaft gets the ball airborne just fine. And if I need a little less distance than my Pursuit TC420 driver off the tee, I'm confident hitting this club.

Very satisfied with club. Hits well from tee or fairway. Does not top the ball or hit wildly left or right. I do not keep clubs in my bag that do not perform 9 out of 10 times. This is a keeper. First purchase from giga, and I will order again.

Where do I start? How about, "This Pursuit 3 wood is a beast!" Story starts with me ordering this club from your pre-owned section for a golfing buddy who needed a 3 wood but was short of cash. I guess because it wasn't from a big name company, he turned his nose up at it, so I tossed it in the trunk and it sat there for a few months. Well, I showed up at the course a few days ago not realizing that I had left my TRX Pearl 3 wood in my laundry room when I was cleaning the clubs. Forced to either go sans 3 wood or try the Pursuit, I opted for the latter. Well after a few shots at the range, I realized I was hitting it a lot longer than the Pearl, especially considering that the weather was a little chilly. When I got on the course, I used it where I would normally use the Pearl and I couldn't believe my eyes. On the second hole, Par 5-565 yards, about 290 out (normally Pearl leaves me about 70 or so out for a third shot wedge) I bombed one that was only about 15 yards off the fringe of the green. I wish I had someone playing with me that day because I barely believe it myself. On our infamous 226 yard Par 3 over a swamp, I actually overshot the green by a good 20 yards or so with an easy swing...It's like a 3 wood on steroids. I don't think I will be using it much because I have the distances pretty well figured out with my Pearl (and I don't want to mess up my improved play), but I do want to play another round with it so my buddy can see what he missed out on. I can honesty say that if you are looking for a 3 wood that will give you outrageous distance and hits fairly straight, this might be the ticket.

Great googly moogly is right. I hit my driver about 220 on a good day, 240 on a great day with a nice roll. Tee'd up and knocked the ball for 265. Worth it. Sounds amazing, feels amazing, and I have no trouble hitting it 200 off the deck. My last 3 wood was a no-go unless the ball was tee'd up.

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!!! The reviews are true. The sound and flight of my first swing at the range with this club turned heads. I went with the Grafalloy Red and upgraded Winn midsize wrap. No club is for everyone but with the 30 day test drive if you're considering this one it's unlikely you'll be disappointed. Note to GIGA; Please make this in a driver.

I received the club in less than 10 days from the time of order (on a weekend). I am 68 going on 69 years old and I am not a good golfer. My prior drives with a driver were lucky to go 200 yARDS and not in the fairway. With this 3 wood I have driven in excess of 200 yards most of the time and an in the fairway 80% of the time. I have hit the club from the deck an am about 185 (unheard of for me). I hope it isn't just a honeymoon experience. The club was 42 inches and a women's flex but it works for me. Great quality and service. I also have wedges from Giga and they are great as well. BTW I never rate "strongly agree" however this club has been absolutely all I had hoped it would be.

Bought the pursuit 3 wood fairway driver and LOVE it!! Was having trouble with my driver, and decided to try a 3 wood with a steel shaft, reg.flex and man' wow, I'm hitting straighter than ever, along with about 240' on my drive!!! This club not just looks great, it out performs most others! I also love the e-fit system, took off -.25 on the shaft and it took care of my trouble of driving the ball! I just ordered G922 irons and can't wait for them. Thanks gigagolf, you made a believer out of me! Ron

I ordered this club in hopes of longer yardage not so. I have a burner 3 wood with stiff shaft that I hit very straight. This club I cannot hit straight. It goes long but it goes left way left. I went to driving range and tried everything can't get it to go straight. I even put in my bag and compared to my other 3 wood in 6 rounds no luck. One golf instructor and a couple of scratch golfers seem to think I has way yo draw bias.

GigaGolf Response:Mr. Roche, Your experience with the Pursuit 3 wood is unexpected. While in product development, we tuned the clubhead to be neutral with our swing robot. A consistent and dramatic right to left ball flight is generally the result of a shaft that is to flexible. I would like to try a stiffer shaft and see if that fitting adjustment will produce the ball flight you are looking for.

I got the Pursuit fairway wood in both 3 and 5, with the free upgrade to the Grafalloy Red stiff shafts, and standard grip. I compared the 5 with my Callaway RAZR Fit, and noticed no difference in distance on good shots, but actually a more consistent direction (a slight draw, never slice). I was putting the 5 wood within 10 yards of my 225 yard target probably 95% of the time. I'm by no means a great golfer, I only started last year, but I might actually start hitting my fairway woods consistently. I even used it to tee off on some of the shorter, strong dogleg left holes that my driver would otherwise be too long for, and was outdriving my playing partners using their real drivers. The 3 wood was so easy to just bomb. I was consistently in the 230-245 range, with one or two that would go even further. For me, the Grafalloy Red (lower trajectory) was plenty, as I don't have problems getting shots up. The feel of the Pursuits is just as good if not better than other woods I've tried. My only note would be that if you get the stiff shaft, you'd better actually be used to stiff shafts. If you try to baby it, it's not as easy to hit. But for a 22 year old male, definitely the right choice. The only complaint I would have would be the standard grips. They are a little more slippery than I'm used to, and looking back maybe I should have just gotten the upgrade, but I have regripped clubs before, and it's not too hard, so I'll just use some of the spares I have if it really bothers me the more I play. Overall, for checking out for less than one Fairway wood from the Callaways, Taylormades, etc. of the world, I think I found a steal. Would definitely recommend, especially if you want to turn those long par 5s into an easy birdie with a chance to be putting for eagle. Will likely buy more than just the two irons I also bought to try out.

This isn't the most forgiving club I have hit but when struck well it flies. Seems to be better off the tee for me than the deck, but I usually don't hit a 3 wood off the deck anyway. I don't want to be misleading either. Hits off the heel and toe aren't as forgiving as I am used to but it isn't that bad either. This club rewards you when struck well and that's really all I can ask.

I am 72 years old and love the game but find I am getting more cynical about a lot of things, particularly these reviews. I had a gap in my clubs between a 7 iron and my 3 wood (my 5 wood was 20 years old) so I ordered a 3 and 4 hybrid and a 5 wood. When they arrived and I took them out of the box I was somewhat disappointed in the look and feel. The hybrids looked more like cut down fairway woods and felt heavy. The slot at the bottom could only be decoration. I always thought that the way you swung a club was more important than the club design. The only word I can use to describe these clubs is MAGIC! The fairway woods have a low long trajectory and the 5 wood hits as far as my Callaway 3 wood. Always consistent!

I ordered the 15 degree three wood with a Grafalloy ProLaunch Red shaft 44" in length. I installed a Lamkin REL grip. The result is a three wood I can hit dead straight off the tee as far or farther than I was hitting my Taylormade M3 driver and with much better consistency.

Just bought the 5 and 3 wood With the grafaloy pro launch Red shafts. Played them for the first time and they are with out a doubt the best fairway woods I have ever played. I am left handed and I just wish the made a left handed Purisuit Driver. I would be ordering it.

This new 3 wood worked well off the tee and helped my normal tendency to aim left to compensate for a tendency to fade off the tee. Very easy and straight hitting club. Good look and feel when hitting and the upgraded shaft for free is great... Very solid overall and looking forward to playing with the new club again.

I don't usually write reviews, but in this case I have to. Yesterday, October 2, I played a round at my regular course. I used the Pursuit 3 Wood more than I usually do and to my delight, It bailed out my game to the extent I got my first "ace" on a 176 yard par 3. The club is a delight to use and true to the manufacturers claims. It took 50 years to get my first hole in one.

I have and play the Pursuit range clubs, Driver, 3W, 4H, 8i to PW, 52 and 60. For longer irons I use the TRX v11. I love all those clubs and have reviewed a few. For me, the star duo of the show is the 3W (Graffaloy Prolaunch Red shaft) and 4H (TT Dyn Gold) combo. I hit the 3W almost as far as the Driver (around 250v260y) and the 4H around 220y which is perfect for my long game. The 3W in particular is beautiful looking, very well balanced and easy to hit in the sweet spot, straight as an arrow, long, sounds great... What can I say, it is a FANTASTIC club, not just great! I would not trade it in for any OEM club I've tried.

Purchased the 3Wood with Proforce V2 Extra Stiff shaft. I selected this 3wood specifically due to it's construction with C455 Steel. My previous 3wood used the same medal so I wanted something similar. Head of the club is a bit larger than my previous 3wood which I don't mind. Hit the range over the weekend and got to few swings on the 3wood. This one is much easier to get into the air over my previous 3wood. Sound is the classic "ping" you get from a c455 steel head as well. Looking forward to getting more swings in. Thanks GigaGolf
